I too played Necromancer and Druid (in the previous Betas. The game just felt very basic and the new open world with it's events and bosses do not do enough to add depth or make the game any more interesting. Played all the more well known ones and a fair few more obscure titles - With Last Epoch and then Grim Dawn currently leading the genre for me. I do not think that the game is bad, but as I stated in another post, I could not stop playing D3 Beta, and I had to made an effort to play the D4 one. I levelled a Rogue to level 20 and I had to force myself to do it. While there are some improvements over D3 (potions and inventory system, dungeons and bosses), the game is just boring. I do not know what kind of endgame will d4 have but i, an avid fan of both the series and the genre, could not force myself to play what was offered in the server slam.Īlso the graphics, while not ugly in the literal sense, are so overwhelmed with the gray color that i found myself repulsed to even look at details. My exacts thoughts. I do not think i have ever played a hack n slash with skills that shallow, and i took a thorough look through all the ones that are shown in the skill tree. i tried druid and necromancer (themes i love) and almost dropped dead from boredom. Unlike d2, d3, PoE and Grim dawn where i could not stop myself from going through the entire campaign in a blitz, most of my time in D4 i was forcing myself to continue playing. I played the server slam, definitely will not be buying it.
